What is Iranian/Persian Dance

Iranian (Persian) Classical Dance is best known for its delicate, graceful hand and arm movements, coquettish facial expressions, and flowy or airy quality. It is often an expression of beloved Iranian (Persian) poetry, an important part of Iranian (Persian) culture, or simply a dancer’s expression of the music. In solo form, Iranian (Persian) dance is historically improvised and stylizations of Iranian (Persian) dance are inspired by concert dance inspired by courtroom dance from particular time periods, while others find their inspiration in poetry and art. Its movements, poses and body lines are visually aligned with Iranian (Persian) Miniature art and Iranian (Persian) calligraphy art and other cultural aesthetics.
